The players of VCF Academy Chicago (USA) are excited to take part in their second appearance at the VCF Academy World Cup. After making their debut last year, the team now looks to show its progress in the fourth edition of the VCF Academy Programs' flagship tournament.
VCF Academy Chicago director Eleazar Pérez was the featured guest on L’Informatiu of VCF Media, sharing the excitement around the tournament, just after a visit from one of the VCF Academy coaches to their Chicago base.
BACK “HOME”
“We’re really happy to be back in Valencia. This is our second time participating in the Academy World Cup. It’s a very special experience for us. No one expected us to go that far last year—we won three games. The most interesting thing is that our team is made up of players from our academy and others who take part in our camps. For all of them, being here is a dream come true.”
DEVELOPMENT VISIT
“The work done by Vicent Gilabert with us was incredible. The kids were very happy, they learned a lot—and so did we. We’re in constant communication with Valencia CF; they guide and instruct us. We feel very supported when it comes to training and development. We’re seeing real improvement in our players season after season, and we can see it clearly when we come here to compete in the Academy World Cup, where the level is very high.”
A SPECIAL SIGNING
“This year, we wanted to share the experience with a kid from Valencia. Dídac is a Valencia CF fan and a fan of VCF Academy Chicago. We’ve built a friendship with him and invited him to join our squad for this tournament. We’re really happy to have him on our team. He gives us that local Valencian touch. We can say we’re bringing a true Valencian star with us.”
A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP
“It all started during the pandemic. We wanted to evolve, grow, and come back stronger. The support we’ve received from Valencia CF and the relationship we’ve built has been amazing. Valencia CF is a club rooted in the community, and we are too. We share values and a vision of always putting the kids at the heart of the project.”
GOING FOR IT
“This year, we want to take the Academy World Cup back to Chicago. You’ve got to aim high—otherwise, why are we here? We’re making our intentions clear. Anything can happen.”
“Hey Chicago, we're here representing you guys, Amunt Chicago, Amunt Valencia”.
